Hobbies/Interest: I enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, snowshoeing, working out, golfing, cooking, and reading. Spending time with family and friends. Playing and watching sports, Go Broncos!
Past life: Spent four years playing collegiate lacrosse, which sparked an interest in sports medicine. Prior to PA school I spent my time working as a physical therapy tech and coaching girls high school lacrosse.
Academic Interest: Wilderness medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, rural critical care, and public health.
Favorite activities in New Haven: Looking forward to trying all the excellent restaurants and breweries, exploring the shore, and settling the Sally’s vs. Pepe’s debate.
Why Yale’s Emergency Medicine Program: Yale’s EM program offers more opportunities than any other program in the country and obtains a great reputation. Working alongside MD residents and being able to have a similar curriculum produces some of the best APP emergency medicine providers. It will allow me to be a part of an outstanding medical team and become the best clinician I can be.
Random factoid: Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro is on my bucket list.

Hobbies/Interest: Running, hiking, kayaking, FOOD (eating>>>>cooking), wine/beer-tasting, traveling, playing violin/viola
Past life: Prior to PA school I was on the faculty at Black Hills State University in western South Dakota where I instructed courses in health sciences and also volunteered as an EMT for the local ambulance service. Prior to that I was a lab rat working on the project that focused on development of new drug options for treatment-resistant malaria.
Academic Interest: trauma, EMS, global health, ultrasound
Favorite activities in New Haven: EATING! (The only activity I have been able to partake in New Haven thus far)
Why Yale’s Emergency Medicine Program: the program as a whole absolutely blew me away, but the things that really drew me to the program were the variety of rotations and the diverse cases/learning opportunities that YNHH will offer

Why Yale’s Emergency Medicine Program: Welcoming and diverse interconnected community including patients, faculty, students, and practitioners. Resources and learning environment at our fingertips to be more than a healthcare provider and explore opportunities to learn from and contribute to many aspects of medicine and public health.
Random factoid: Iceland is probably my favorite of about 20 countries visited. Hoping to return soon for a fourth hiking and camping trip.

Favorite activities in New Haven: I am really excited to explore the town and its history as well as the nearby surfing areas and mountains.
Why Yale’s Emergency Medicine Program: I was drawn to the program for its well-rounded off-service rotations, amazing academic and educational opportunities, and integration with the physician residency. During my visit to the program, I could feel that the staff and residents loved being there and were really well-supported. I knew that I wanted to be in that environment.
Random factoid: I worked on a salmon tender boat on Bristol Bay for a summer
